A large claw appeared right before her eyes.[2] Yuri instinctively felt danger and quickly moved to avoid it. Even as he failed to break her mask, Lakis’ hand moved to his next target with surprising speed, seizing the flap of Yuri’s cloak.

Lakis stood where Yuri was seconds ago and cocked his head to one side.

But he soon quirked his lips like he didn’t care and rushed at Yuri again.

A piece of the roof broke off the next moment, clattering to the ground.
Yuri blocked the attack flying at her face and frowned. Her arm was throbbing from kick. But she didn’t have any time to rest because the next attack was immediately launched at her.
If not for the fact that people were flocking to go see the upcoming fireworks, they would have caused a disturbance. But it was obvious Lakis knew that, hence why he was acting so boldly. Because he had been doing such a great job of acting nice and quiet at home, Yuri had almost forgotten.

Late but Happy New Year! Woaaaa! What an exhilarating chapter! Of course something would intercept Lakis from finding out it was Yuri… but I didn’t expect Lakis and Yuri on her job to cross paths so soon! It’s too bad her impression of Lakis went down again(?). But I personally loved seeing the vicious part of him. Might have been docile but still a beast. The logic in stealing people’s money was really horrible tho 😅 Idk how fast Yuri heals but I’m anticipating the moment when Yuri is back home where Lakis will be and he’ll perceive a slight difference to her usual composure and finds out someone harmed her and gets murderous wanting to kill whoever did that when… it was him… 😂😂😂

I appreciate the “not an actual claw” clarification. Since in this setting a lot of people seem to have weird animal-based powers it really wouldn’t be surprising at all is someone actually did have claws. For a moment there I thought Lakis was showing off some weird superpower.
