T/N: I made the font of the website a little bigger as requested. Hopefully, it’s not too big now. Enjoy.

* * *

Aristine’s reaction was exactly as he expected. It was already too late. Tarkan rubbed his forehead.

“P-pervert?! Who are you calling a pervert right now?!”

The moment he heard the word ‘pervert’, Mohawk screeched agitatedly.

Meanwhile, Aristine was ever so calm.

“Hm, I understand. It doesn’t feel great to be exposed.”

“Expo…I said I’m not a pervert!!!”

“I mean, objectively speaking, given the current situation…”

“Objectively speaking, what?! What about it?!”

Aristine just smiled without saying a word. It was a very charitable smile that seemed to say she understood everything.

‘That smile pisses me off even more!!!’

His blood pressure was skyrocketing, and his face was blood red. Seeing this, Aristine sincerely apologized.

“Sorry. It seems I misunderstood the situation and barged in, disturbing your fun.”

There was zero hint of sarcasm on her face, just sincerity. Mohawk was even more dumbfounded.

“I didn’t know you were having a tryst.”

“How in the world does this look like a tryst?!”

In the end, Mohawk couldn’t bear it anymore and exploded.

“Erm, you’re meeting in secret, and you don’t want others to notice. I’d say that’s a tryst.”

Well, yes, they tried to avoid people’s eyes. And they did meet in secret.

But, but…!

“Not only that, but you’re staying there like you’re gladly receiving punishment and worshiping your master—”

“When did I??!!?!!!”

This was a colossal misunderstanding. Mohawk reflexively stood up in indignation,

“Ack!!!”

only to be kicked back down by Lu.

“You have some nerve. Who do you think you’re raising your head to?”

Mohawk looked up at Lu in disbelief.

‘You still want to act like this even after hearing this nonsense?!’

Mohawk glanced at Aristine.

And took in the way she was looking at him.

‘Come one, this woman’s misunderstanding just got worse!’

Now, she probably thought he got punished for raising his head in front of his master.

Mohawk wanted to fight back but decided to shut his mouth for now.

The guy stepping on him right now was incredibly strong, despite his appearance saying otherwise.

He didn’t want to get smacked again.

‘But this woman…something about her is very familiar.’

To be more precise, her face resembled the Emperor.

But such a strange woman couldn’t possibly be the Emperor, could she?

Mohawk recalled the photo of the Imperial couple that he had seen two days ago, when he went to the general store for snacks (the Pink Pink Nyang Jelly Shop).

‘…No, this is more than resemblance. She looks like a copy. But still, there’s no way…?’

Even though he thought it was impossible, that ominous feeling was starting to grow.
Mohawk swallowed hard and shifted his gaze to the man standing next to the woman.

His face was also somewhat familiar.

Plus, his long black hair that flowed like a mane and gleaming golden eyes.

Cold sweat trickled down his back.

Impossible.

Could it be?

No way…!

“Get lower and press your head to the floor, scum.”

Lu spoke softly like he was reciting poetry.

“She isn’t someone you should dare look at directly.”

“..!”

Mohawk finally realized.

There was only one reason why this guy kicked him back down to his knees.

It was because he was in front of the Emperor!

“Y-Y-Your…”

Mohawk couldn’t finish his sentence and pressed his head to the floor.

The rest of his gang did the same.

The Imperial authority, descended from divine blood.

An Emperor chosen directly by God, and crowned Monarch by herself.

A living legend and myth.

Emperor Aristine stood before them.

‘Damn it!’

Even if things got f*cked, how could they get this f*cked?!

“Hmm, I think your tryst partner has gotten too scared. Should I leave?”

“You really haven’t change,” Lu turned to Aristine with a smile, “It’s been a while, Rineh.”

“It has been a while.”

They peered into each other’s eyes.

After over a thousand days apart, they had finally met again, despite neither planning for the occasion.

Yet, it felt entirely natural, as if they had just agreed to meet today.

Smiles appeared on their faces at the same time.

Tarkan frowned and hugged his wife’s shoulder, pulling her closer.

Lu chuckled in amusement.

“Well, you haven’t changed either. No need to be so wary, you know?”

“I know.”

Even though he knew, he couldn’t stay still without making it clear that his wife belonged to him, and he to her.

Even he knew it was childish.

This chance reunion didn’t need any words.

Tarkan looked at Hamill. The man who had once been his political rival, then his benefactor, and now, his long-lost brother.

“So, tell me, what is going on here?”

* * *

For the past three years or so, Lu realized that he had quite the knack for wandering.

With his status gone, he drifted from place to place across the empire, experiencing all sorts of adventure.

“And I’ve been to the black market many times. And then, not too long ago, I discovered something.”

Lu tapped the mohawk guy, who was bowing his head.

“There’s a gang here manufacturing and distributing fake barriers.”

“I knew it,” Tarkan nodded, “Royal father mentioned that too.”

“I couldn’t believe they had the boldness and audacity to stain the achievements of our Emperor.”

Lu knew how hard Aristine had worked on the barriers.

He was part of that memory too.

He was the one who had supported her by providing the mana stones, so his help had also contributed to the creation of the barriers.

It was proof that he had worked alongside Aristine.

“So, I made this plan to catch these guys myself.”

“You had to do it yourself?”

“They stained my memories, so I had to punish them personally.”

“…Rineh made the barriers for me, though.”

“No one likes overly jealous men.”

Lu grinned.

The plan was very simple. Lu told the mohawk gang that he wanted to buy barriers in bulk.

And today was the day the deal took place.

“Since I came empty-handed, they got a little upset.”

“And they threatened to cut off your wrist while demanding the money,” Aristine said.

“Exactly,” Lu smiled.

“But just before they could cut it off, my little friends showed up as promised to save me.”

Lu’s gaze turned to the burly men who had subdued the mohawk gang.

“A surprise raid, or so they call it. We quickly overpowered them, got them to their knees, started questioning them—”

“And then I came in.”

Aristine nodded. That explained why Tarkan had sensed something off earlier.

“Haha, I thought Lu was a pervert too and I was surprised for a bit.”

“‘Too’?”

“Mhm, since you are brothers and all… they say siblings take after each other, no?”

‘…What does that even mean?’

No matter what angle he took, it sounded like she was calling her husband a pervert.

Lu was taken aback and glanced at his brother.

Tarkan looked dumbfounded by his wife’s sudden comment. However, there was a faint blush on his cheeks.

‘Why does he look weirdly proud…’

What was going on here?

Aristine is hilarious I’m dying, calling the imperial brothers perverts is something only she can do LOL 😂
ps. btw Miss Ruby the changes to the website are refreshing and beautiful, but while I was trying to write this comment in dark mode I couldn’t see what I was writing
I wonder if the reason is that the font is black and it should become white on dark mode.

Lama Omar

The size of the font is perfect, and the translation is flawless as always
Thank you Miss Ruby 🤍
