Forget My Husband, I’ll Go Make Money – Side Story 1.2

While the two emperors were tidying up themselves, Actsion began his lecture.

“This is really embarrassing before the subjects! Everyone thinks Impewial Mother and Impewial Father are sleepyheads!”

‘…I doubt they actually think we’re heavy sleepers.’

Tarkan shrugged his shoulders as he tightened the ropes of Aristine’s nightdress.

‘If anything, they probably think we’re more energetic at night than during the day.’

Of course, that was something he could never say to his son.

“What would our subjects think if they knew you’re neglecting your duties to laze around?!”

“I’m very sorry, dear…”

Unlike Tarkan, who was shamelessly laughing, Aristine sincerely apologized to her son, feeling somewhat guilty.

“What can Mommy do to make Sion forgive her?”

Actsion’s ears perked up at those words. The child glanced around furtively then he softly whispered.

“How about some chocolate later…”

“Oh my? I thought our honorable prince doesn’t eat snacks outside of the times we’ve agreed on?”

“B, but…”

Actsion’s eyes shook like there was an earthquake. Laughing at his cuteness, Tarkan joined in next to Aristine.

“Indeed. I thought the nanny only allows the chocolate treat once a week? Who would have thought the prince, who will lead the empire in the future, would break his promise like this…”

“…!”

Actsion didn’t know what to do except flail his short arms and legs.

He looked like he was facing the biggest challenge of his life. Not even realizing the bright smile on his parents’ faces, the prince was deep in work.

Would his personal desire persevere? Or must he endure for the greater good!

Finally, he seemed to make up his mind, and closed his eyes tightly.

“T, then I want a kiss.”

“A kiss?”

“Yes! Ten on my cheek and my head!”

Aristine, unable to resist her son’s cuteness, gave him kisses on his plump cheeks and whispered.

“I’ll give you some chocolate later, too, Your Highness.”

“B-But…!”

“I’ll get permission from the nanny. Then it won’t be breaking any promises, right?”

“…!”

Actsion’s face lit up with joy.

“Mommy!”

Aristine caught her son, who jumped into her arms, and she smiled happily. As he watched, Tarkan’s face had a smile that looked just like his wife’s.

After enjoying his mother’s hug for a while, Actsion patted Aristine’s arm.

“You can put me down now. It’s past a hundred.”

“A hundred…?”

The imperial couple tilted their heads in confusion.

Actsion straightened his expression and regained his solemn demeanor, then he opened the bedroom door.

Once they saw him, the people who had been pretending to count quickly resumed, “N, Ninety-eight! Ninety-nine, one hundred…!”

Actsion nodded with pride on his face.

“I see you have all faithfully carried out your duties!”

“How could we dare not follow the prince’s orders!”

“Following Your Highness’s orders is my pleasure!”

“Hoho! The future of the empire is bwight!”

“Your praise is overwhelming!”

“Your Imperial Highness!!”

The officials responded fervently, looking like they were ready to kneel and bow to the ground.

Aristine and Tarkan watched them with bleary eyes.

Actsion was once again proud and before leaving, he gave the imperial couple once last piece of advice.

“You must not neglect work to play around!

“Mhm…”

“Of course.”

What kind of image do we have in our son’s eyes?

The imperial couple started getting worried.

“Well then, this humble prince shall now withdraw to avoid disturbing Your Majesties!”

“Go on.”

“Don’t run!”

The imperial couple tilted their heads as they watched their son leave.

‘Every single time, I have to ask myself…’

Even if you ignored the officials who were imitating Actsion’s old-fashioned speech—.

‘Who in the words is teaching Actsion this ancient speech?’

It definitely wasn’t Aristine or Tarkan.

“Ahem! Shouldn’t we follow His Highness’s words, Your Majesties?”

“How about we look at this document first.”

“No! This is more urgent! Please handle this first…”

The officials eagerly pushed their papers forward.

“I haven’t even had breakfast yet,” Aristine retorted.

“I can’t starve my wife.”

Tarkan spoke fiercely, and the officials nodded.

They looked like they were expecting this reaction.

“This is perfect then! The morning meeting is going to be held over breakfast!”

The burden of work could never be escaped.

“…”

“…”

The two emperors looked at each other and sighed. Even though they had worked late last night, it seemed they were fated to be busy from early morning until nightfall again today.

With resigned steps, the two emperors followed the officials.

.
.
.

And not long after, Tarkan, who was unable to love his wife to the fullest due to work and his son, finally exploded. Unsurprisingly, of course.

Thus, more than three years after they had been crowned the imperial couple finally got a break from their duties.

It was their first vacation.

PrissyNeko

Thank you so much for the translation, Miss Ruby.

Actsion is adorable. But it is a wonder where he learned his speech patterns from. Children are like sponges. They absorb and repeat the things they hear, and do the things they see.
My mom once told me a story about when I was around 5 or 6 and we went out for breakfast. After finishing my meal, I apparently leaned back in my seat and said, “I’m so satisfied.” I can imagine how surprising it was to hear a young child use the word “satisfied.” Actsion seems to be similar in being a bit smarter than his peers.
