IIRC in this case just take it literally, like they beheaded her corpse, threw here to be eaten by fishes, or pulled apart her limbs, depending on her crime. This is to mark her as a criminal and bring shame to her name and her family. At the same time, it desecrated her body.. Something very disrespectful and shameful for the dead.
