It is not very clear what exactly was the population being forced to do to be in such a state. It would have made more sense to say that the commoners were dying due to a plague or some sort of disaster…. but because of the King and the nobles? The MLs found them all half dead, with wounds and missing flesh… there were no mines or farms near, so what were they doing? How were the King and the nobles getting rich from those people?
