i think author took inspiration from ancient egypt (skin color, race etc.) and ancient greece and created a whole different setting otherwise. especially the costumes and jewelry seems fusion between the two (arm rings, then wreaths, flowy dresses without much cutting or sewing, body chains etc.). there’s not one south asian element i noticed so far, so it’s safe to assume irugo’s inspiration mainly came from middle east while silvanus’ inspiration is east asia and west. but those are just bits of inspiration, the setting is in alternative universe so it doesn’t have to be historically accurate to our world
