Thanks for your explanation, but I already knew it.
The one I & Jewel17 mentioned was Hugh thoughts abt the conceiving method that Phillip said (the lies; where the Taran male had to feed his blood to the woman he would have seggs with so they could have a child, otherwise there would be no child at all no matter how much they have seggs or with how many women).
Because a child (Damian) was born from the relationship between the late Hugo and a girl he loved (which turned out to be his half-sister) so Hugh thought abt the method, where Hugo must’ve been fed this girl his blood. But even Hugh himself didn’t understand how Hugo, with his kind and soft personality, could do such terrible method, not to mention to a girl he loved. Even Hugh himself who is ‘cruel & heartless’ couldn’t bring himself to do it to any woman, let alone the woman he loves.
So, we as the readers, couldn’t understand why a sharp mind person like Hugh wasn’t suspicious abt the method that Phillip said, until this chapter.
Hence, we thought that this was the plot-hole in the story.
